ODIYA ("Emergency Location Helper") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how the ODIYA app and website (odiya.info) handle your information.
Location Data: When you tap "Find My Location," your device's GPS coordinates are accessed to display your current position. This data is processed entirely on your device and is NOT sent to or stored on any server.
Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand general usage patterns (page views, language preferences). This data is anonymized and does not include your location coordinates.
Your location data is used solely to:
- Display your GPS coordinates on screen
- Generate a human-readable location description
- Find nearby landmarks via OpenStreetMap's Overpass API
- Create a Google Maps link for sharing
ODIYA does NOT store your location data. No account is required. No personal information is collected, saved, or transmitted to our servers. All location processing happens on your device.
Google Maps: Used to generate shareable map links. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
OpenStreetMap (Overpass API): Used to find nearby landmarks. Only your approximate coordinates are sent to find nearby points of interest.
Google Analytics: Used for anonymous usage statistics. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Cloud Text-to-Speech: Used to generate pronunciation audio. No personal data is sent.
The ODIYA Apple Watch companion app accesses your location directly on the watch using CoreLocation. Location data is processed locally on the device and is not stored or transmitted to any server.
ODIYA does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
